The Los Angeles-based Salted serves as an aggregator where it delivers restaurant meals and meal kits from different brands. These brands provide their meals to Salted, which then delivers to their customers. Meals ship through their “cloud kitchens” (commercial restaurant kitchen operated for the purposes of meal delivery). Their website claims to be building the “restaurant group of the future, without the overhead of actual restaurants.” Successful restaurant brands of the future will ”… exist outside four walls. “
